Accapella Group Started at Leipsic
Warm up your singing voices, Danielle Douglas (pictured above) started an Acapella group with the help of Brynna Schroeder and Mrs. Kline. Tryouts were held on September 9, 2015 after school in the choir room. Any Leipsic High School student could tryout. Danielle and Brynna were the main judges, and Mrs. Kline was there to be a tie breaker. The judges asked the students to sing “Row Row Your Boat” and also a song of their own choice. Both of these were used to help place them in a part of either soprano, alto, tenor, bass, or even beatbox.
The group members are:Micha Flores, Bridget Casteel, Jisele Pena, Stephanie Straley, Sophia Koenig, Braylyn Hovest, Breanna Ellerbrock, Cheyanne Flack, Jaden Lutz, Faith Butler, Abby Tadena, Mckenzie Tooman, Grace Riegel, Brynna Schroeder, and of course Danielle Douglas. The group hopes to perform at The Meadows of Leipsic and at the choir concerts. They will not be singing competitively. The group will practice after school on Mondays and Wednesdays. Danielle says, “My goal is to lead the acapella group but to have fun while doing so. I plan on doing a variety of contemporary songs and some really pretty acapella songs.” We wish the best for Danielle and look forward to hearing this group perform.
