CrossFit was founded in 2000, and the CEO is Greg Glassman. He founded this workout method when he was a teen gymnast. CrossFit workouts incorporate elements from high-intensity interval training, Olympic weightlifting, plyometrics, powerlifting, gymnastics, and other exercises.  The workouts use large muscle groups and various ranges of motion lead to better overall health, posture, flexibility, strength, and balance. Many people find CrossFit to be fun and very likable so they are willing to pay the price for classes, but many people are not. Crossfit prices can range anywhere from $100 – $200 varying on the amount of time going monthly.  Pictured above is a gym where people might go to do Crossfit.

CrossFit is more than just getting a workout. It’s the culture that has made it so popular. Many people come together not only as friends but to joke around and have fun as a family in many CrossFit sessions. Many would argue that CrossFit can provide these same benefits as a normal gym, even though it emphasizes strengthening all over the body in each workout. CrossFit does incorporate aerobic activities such as running. No matter if you’ve been working out all of your life or just getting started, I feel that anyone can benefit from joining a CrossFit gym. If may not be for everyone but if you try it out and decide it’s something you love I’m sure you won’t regret it.
