Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. The holiday is currently observed every year on the last Monday of May, with the holiday being celebrated on May 29th this year. Many people have different ideas on how to spend the holiday, such as by attending a local parade, decorating with flags, or visiting with a veteran.

The celebration of Memorial Day means that government agencies, schools, services, and some businesses will be closed or have modified hours. Holidays also usually mean higher gas prices too, right? Well, you may be surprised to hear that gas prices will actually be falling over the holiday weekend to prices around $2.15.

However, you decide to spend the holiday, make sure you take a little time out of your day to think about the real reason for this day.
