Swim Team Summary

The swim season has been over for several months now. A quick recap of the season can be given by Raegan Cupp. She is the only member of the Leipsic swim team. She started her own team in 2013 when she became a freshman in high school. She has swam for all four years of her high school career. Since Leipsic does not have an indoor pool facility, Raegan practices with the Ottawa swim team. She participates in the same meets as Ottawa but scores points for Leipsic. Her younger sister, Kenzington Cupp, also swims. She will be part of Leipsic swim team when she enters high school.

Raegan’s favorite event was the 50-yard freestyle. This means that she swam down and back one time. She had home meets at the YMCA in Ottawa and away meets at places like Shawnee, Celina, Wapak, Defiance, Bath, and Napoleon. The 2017 Sectional meet was held in Ayersville. The District meet was held at Bowling Green State University. The state competition was held at Canton McKinley High School. Many members of the Ottawa swim team qualified for state. Raegan’s best time was 27:63¬†which was held in the 50-yard freestyle. ¬†Great job Raegan!
