Look who’s talking? In the movie The Boss Baby, it’s literally a tot! I went with a friend to go see the new animated family movie that just came out. The movie stars the voice talents of Alec Baldwin as the tough-talking, adult acting baby, Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel as parents, Steve Buscemi as the villain, and Tobey Maguire as the narrator. The story is about a young kid named Tim Templeton who finds out that his new baby brother is secretly a spy on a mission to save all babies. They have to put aside their differences in order to save the day. In the process, they learn to stop their sibling rivalry and find out that there’s always plenty of love to go around for each family member!

The movie had a lot of cute ideas on family dynamics and babies. There were some great songs and colorful visuals in the film. It also had some funny moments for both adults and children. However, the movie was definitely geared toward children more, and the doo-doo jokes got a little annoying after awhile. The plot was also very out there with not much thoughtfulness added to it. In the end, though, I thought the idea was very cute and with a cute ending, fun characters, and valuable family lessons, I managed to ultimately enjoy the movie. Overall, I would give it a 3 out of 5. Other than some rude humor, the movie is a good one for the family.
