Holy Week…Easter Sunday
He has Risen! Easter is a day to rejoice! After 40 long days, it is finally Easter Sunday! Easter is a day that many Christians celebrate. The picture above is of a statue of Jesus in the St. Mary’s church, which reminds Christians to give rejoicing to him. Easter is a day to attend mass to celebrate Jesus and to also give thanks. On Good Friday, Jesus died for our sins and to save his followers’ lives. On Sunday, we thank God for sending Jesus to save us for our sins. Also, on Sunday Jesus was risen from the dead, and the tomb stone was rolled away.
Many families go to church and celebrate together. Some churches even have a play about how Jesus rose from the dead. After church, it is usually time for family and friends. Many families have big meals with ham, eggs, mash potatoes, and more. Easter is also the end of Lent so people who gave up something can finally eat or use the thing that they gave up. Emma Niese said she is excited for Easter so she can drink a lot of pop because she gave pop up for Lent. There are also Easter eggs hunts. Some people have their own hunts at their house, but there is also a hunt at the K of C in Ottawa. The Easter Bunny also visits many children who have been good and giving them gifts like candy, kites, and chalk. How will you celebrate Easter?
