Are You Distracted by Technology?

Are you distracted by technology? Are smartphones, texting, video games, iPhone’s, Instagram, Web surfing and television getting in the way of your learning? During class, while teachers are talking, many students are on their computers playing games or doing things they shouldn’t be doing. Have the Chromebooks made more of a hassle for teachers than help? Yes, you can access your different class books on the Chromebooks, but do students even use that feature? In my Advanced Math class, we only have an online textbook and do our homework online. Many of us only use notes and do the homework online. This happens instead of actually looking up any questions we may have.

With having all this online access, has it made our society dumb? We will never know. If you ask many people a question nowadays, they will say “I’ll search that on google quick.” The amount of times we rely on the internet is unreal. I feel that with having all these resources you will have pros and cons all the time. A positive is being able to save paper for the school. A negative is students doing things on their computers they shouldn’t be at certain times. Having constant internet access can save you time or lose you time. It is your own decision in what you make of it.
