Track Season is Here!

It’s finally the start of track season! The Junior High track practices began on Monday, March 6th. The High School boys started a week before, and the High School girls began on Thursday, March 9th. Athletes from all over the county’s schools are prepared to start conditioning and getting ready for their first meets. On the Leipsic schedule, the Columbus Grove meet is up first. Although the start of practices may be rigorous for the first couple of weeks, with sore muscles and aches and pains, everyone hopes it will all pay off in the end!

With the start of track season, comes athletic fundraisers. The Junior High and High School track teams are all participating in the Cookie Blitz to help raise money for the sport. It involves selling different types of cookies to those you know and then grouping up to have one more day of going around town to try to get as many cookie orders as possible. The girl and boy that sell the most get a cash reward! However, the fundraising is only one small part of track season. The rest is about working hard to improve. We will all try to do our best, both personally and as a team. Come out and support the boys and girls in track and field this season!
