Little Viking Cheer Camp
I like to be cheerleader whenever I can… the Little Viking Cheer Camp is back! This year there are about 30 girls participating in the Little Viking Cheer Camp. The high school cheerleaders are putting the camp together. The cheerleaders made up a dance, cheer, and a chant to teach the girls. The camp was for girls from Kindergarten to 4th grade. The camp was on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with a performance at the end of the week at the Varsity Basketball game. The picture above is of the girls performing at the Varsity game. The cost of the camp was thirty dollars. The girls also receive a t-shirt at the end of the week which they wore to the game.
The first thing the girls at Little Viking Cheer camp was to change their clothes into something more comfortable, and they had a quick snack. Then, they went down to the gym, stretched, and were split up into groups. Each group practiced either the dance, cheer, or chant. They rotated to different stations to learn something new. The girls also learned some proper jumps and cheer techniques. They learned how to properly do a toe touch, right herkie, and a kick. At the end of the camp, they all played a game together. Their parents picked them up around 4:30 from the gym. Everyone had a great time. Great job to all who participated.
