Pink Game Wrap-Up
On Saturday, January 14th, pink filled the whole entire gym for a game against the Columbus Grove Bulldogs. The game was to earn money and spread awareness about cancer. There were many events throughout the day to help raise money. The freshman girls played the first game of the day and then JV and Varsity girls basketball teams played next. The boys JV and Varsity basketball teams played later that night. During the girls and boys games, there was a drag contest in which high school boys competed to see who could get the most monetary donations from the crowd. The boys dressed in dresses with make-up and wigs and asked for donations.
In the morning, there was a craft show set up in the small gym that ran to the late afternoon. There were many vendors who sold anything from candles, to jewelry, to clothes, and even snacks. One of the post popular vendors at the craft show was the LuLaRoe table which sells clothes. LuLaRoe is most often know for their soft and colorful leggings. Another activity that was going on during the day were pink hair extensions that were available for sale! There were also pink tattoos sold by the art club. Journalism also sold pink bracelets at the pink game. There were also pink basketballs sold, pictured above, for one dollar which were then hung on a big ribbon. There were also raffle tickets sold for a chance to win different baskets and raffle items. Each basket had a different theme including movie, breakfast, or even peanuts! Overall, the pink game raised over $6,400! Thanks for everyone’s effort and participation.
