Post-Inauguration

tylee1

Many people here at school, as well as all over the country, were watching the inauguration of our new President, Donald Trump, and our Vice President, Mike Pence. Many people were curious about how smoothly the event would go and if there would be any disruptions. The day went just fine for Donald Trump and Mike Pence, and they were both successfully sworn into their offices. All five of Trump’s children were there to see him sworn in. Before the swearing-in ceremony, President Trump, along with his wife Ivanka, met with former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle for a meeting over coffee, which is customary for the incoming and outgoing Presidents to do.

Here at LHS, many students were pumped to see the Inauguration. Mrs. Meyer’s government classes, along with many others, watched it live. Some people wondered if Trump would actually swear in, or if he would back out and have Pence be president. Some students that were talked to said that they didn’t completely understand what was going on. Tylee Dukes, pictured above, says that she enjoyed watching it while she was eating lunch and thought it was interesting.

Trump has already done many different things during his short time in office. Whether or not you agree with what Trump has done so far, please be kind to others, even if their opinion is different than yours.
