Have You Tried… Zumba
Zumba classes are typically about an hour long and are taught by instructors licensed by Zumba Fitness, LLC. The exercise program was founded by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto Beto during the 1990s. The choreography includes hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, and mambo. About 15 million people take weekly Zumba classes in over 200,000 locations across 180 countries. In our own town local gyms, you could go to Peak or the YMCA. They both offer Zumba and other classes that you may like also. Zumba videos, like the one pictured above, can also be purchased from a variety of stores for people to use at home.
In a few words, Zumba is a hip class with hip hop music and constantly moving dance moves. It’s like working out to your favorite song but while dancing. Zumba is a huge calorie burner and tones your body. It always seems to keep you coming back. It completely changes the idea of exercise because it’s something you really look forward to. A great thing about Zumba is that it works for all ages. Anyone from high school students to your grandma could join in the fun. Another great aspect is that it’s like free therapy. You can have some free time to forget about your homework and all the chores you have to do once you get home. Zumba is another great way to get in shape for the new year.
